New Well Construction Approved By Frankfort Board
The new well will replace one which was failing and operating at a reduced capacity.
FRANKFORT, IL — The construction of a new well was approved by the Frankfort Village Board at its meeting on Tuesday. The $670,905 contract was awarded to Layne Christensen Company, which will construct the new Well 17.
The new well will replace Well 7, which is located in the Prestwick subdivision.
Trustee Adam Borrelli, who chairs the Operations Committee, said the casing for Well 7 is failing and the well has been operating at reduced capacity for several years in order to prevent further damage or failure.

The Village previously entered into a project services agreement with Farnsworth Group, Inc., for engineering services, board documents state. The Farnsworth Group reviewed the two bids it received, and Layne Christensen was the "low-responsive bidder," according to board documents.
