Pet Snake Found By Police In Frankfort
The department said it rescued a snake at Ironwood and Stonebridge Road on Feb. 27.

FRANKFORT, IL — Missing dogs and cats are often picked up around town by the Frankfort Police Department, but this is the first time the department has found a pet snake. The department said it rescued a snake at Ironwood and Stonebridge Road on Feb. 27.
The snake is a 6-foot boa constrictor, and police aren't sure if it was abandoned or not. Police said on Facebook when officers first came across the snake, they believed it was dead. However, they put it in a heated environment, and discovered it was alive.
The snake has been transported to the Chicago Reptile House in Orland Park so it can be cared for by professionals, the department said.
