Man Fled Officers After Traffic Stop

UPDATE: Suspect no longer in area. Police were in the 10600 block of U.S. 30 Thursday night searching for a man who ran from them.

FRANKFORT, IL — Police were looking for a man who ran from a traffic stop in the 10600 block of U.S. 30, near Butternut Creek woods, in Frankfort Thursday evening. Police say the suspect has been identified and is no longer in the area.

The man is described as black, about 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, and wearing a red coat. Police said he was seen running east from the area in which he was stopped. Several Frankfort police cars were seen in a church parking lot surrounding a large rental truck at about 6 p.m. A Will County sheriff's department SUV was on the bike trail just east of the church.
