Presidents Day 2018: What's Open And Closed In Frankfort

FRANKFORT, IL — Like Columbus Day, Presidents Day is a federal holiday that leaves many stumped when it comes to figuring out what will be closed and what will be open Monday, Feb. 19, the day the holiday will be observed this year. Most people work on the third Monday of February dedicated to honoring George Washington, but some local institutions and services have the day off.
Here's a look at how some of the places around Frankfort are handling Presidents Day this year:
Schools: No classes for Frankfort School District 157-C, Elementary School District 159, Summit Hill School District 161 and Lincoln-Way High School District 210.

Village Government: Village Hall and village offices will be closed. County, state and federal government offices also will be closed.
Frankfort Public Library: The library will be closed.

Postal Service: No mail delivery, and all post offices will be closed.
Trash Pickup: Service will keep a normal schedule Monday and the entire week.
Banks: Most financial institutions will be closed. Call ahead to be sure.
Retailers, Restaurants, Bars and Other Businesses: Most will be open, but check hours ahead of time. Stores, such as Macy's, Target and Crate and Barrel will be offering Presidents Day sales.
