Richton Park Homeowner Opens Fire During Thanksgiving Break-In

The individuals fled the scene in 2 vehicles, including a Chevrolet Cruze belonging to the homeowner, police said.

RICHTON PARK, IL — A Richton Park homeowner shot at individuals who apparently were breaking into his home on Thanksgiving, according to police. It's not known if the gunfire hit the offenders as they fled the scene in two vehicles, including one owned by the homeowners, the Daily Southtown reports.

Police received a 911 call Thursday, Nov. 22, of a burglary in progress at a home in the 4900 block of Bay View Drive, the report stated. When officers arrived at the house, two vehicles with the apparent offenders were seen fleeing the scene, the report added.

Officers chased the individuals until the vehicles reached Interstate 57, the report stated. According to police, one of the vehicles was a white Jeep Cherokee, while the other was the homeowner's Chevrolet Cruze, Illinois license plate number of S209446, the report added.
