Summer Art Classes with the FAA
Frankfort Arts Association is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

The Frankfort Arts Association is kicking off summer with an array of art classes to inspire creativity.
Programming begins June 14th with single and multiple sessions available.
Lisa Podlesak will be leading an outdoor art camp with nature inspired classes, focused on ages six through twelve. The theme is “learning to see the beauty in what surrounds you,” said Podlesak. Students will be blending elements of nature with traditional art techniques and supplies.

Colleen Carey’s mixed media sessions will be held at KidsWork Children’s Museum. In this class, aspiring artists, ages four through eight, will learn art basics while creating using various techniques from 2D to 3D, all inspired by the summer season.
The excitement continues to bloom in July, when instructor, Jaime Maisuria launches her multi themed series.

Maisuria explained that her offering, starting July 12, “gives students the option to choose one or choose all classes that will delight a variety of interests.” Nine sessions, highlighting weaving, repurposing, nature themes, and favorite colors are offered.
The FAA is sponsoring a community event for the last session on July 23rd. Each participant will be given 2 to 3 leaves, cut from the pages of recycled books, to decorate, color, draw, or doodle. The leaves will be combined to create an art piece, which will be presented to the Village of Frankfort. All ages are welcome.
All classes are available for registration at www.frankfortarts.org/classes.

Frankfort Arts Association is dedicated to enhancing the community through creation, education, promotion, and appreciation of the arts. Artists need a space to dream, to create, to inspire and to be inspired. We are working to provide a creative place within our community where we can easily gather for enrichment, exploration, and inspiration. Through fundraising efforts, the FAA’s goals are as follows:
• Physical space for FAA member activity
• Gallery exhibits
• Continue to provide art classes, workshops, and lectures
• Beautification of the community through public works projects
• Shared spaces for artists to rent
• Collaborate with local businesses to promote the arts through sponsored events and pop-up galleries
• Collaborate with Village of Frankfort to help our community thrive
