Three Frankfort Artists Participate In Park Forest Art Fair

Three Frankfort artists will be featured at the 64th annual Park Forest Art Fair .

FRANKFORT, IL — Three Frankfort artists will be featured at the 64th annual Park Forest Art Fair on Saturday, Sept. 21 and Sunday, Sept. 22 from 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. in the Village Green in downtown Park Forest. Margi Hafer, Richard Schmidt and Mary Ann Trzyna will all have exhibits at the fair.

Event organizers said this year, there are 23 new artists exhibiting as well as many returning artists who will be familiar to fair-goers. The artists work in a variety of media from oil, acrylic and watercolor painting, photography and printmaking to wood, glass and fiber arts.

According to a release, Hafer is a multimedia artist currently working predominantly in watercolor, acrylics and mixed media collage.

“My work often has a spiritual quality that relates to my inner feelings as a woman with
the roles of daughter, sister, wife, mother of four, and grandmother of nine, feeding my visions and energizing my spirit," she said in a release.

Schmidt is an artist that works in oils and watercolors. Event organizers said he interprets the colors and light using a wet on wet technique and a modified pointillism style. His work is representational with a slight impressionistic edge.

Trzyna does most of her current work in pastel or oil painting, working with landscapes and still life. Her style is realistic and one of her most recent Tall Grass exhibits was an exhibit of highly realistic still lifes, the release states.
