Tornado Watch Issued for Will County

Be prepared to take cover if weather conditions call for it.

Residents in Cook and Will Counties are urged to take caution and be aware of weather conditions, as a tornado watch has been issued in Cook and other counties, effective until 11 p.m. Thursday, according to the National Weather Service.

A tornado watch is issued when conditions are favorable for tornado development. During the designated time, people should be prepared to move to a safe place if threatening weather approaches.

Earlier Thursday, the NWS issued a hazardous weather outlook in advance of severe thunderstorms expected to move through the area between 2 and 9 p.m., continuing through the evening.
