Two Cars Stolen From Phillips Chevrolet Dealership: Cops

Two Dodge Chargers were stolen from the dealership early Tuesday; one was found later that day in Villa Park, police said.

FRANKFORT, IL — Two cars were stolen from Phillips Chevrolet car dealership early Tuesday, according to Frankfort police. Officers responded at 4:38 a.m. Tuesday to the dealership for "suspicious activity," police said.

A witness saw a black Dodge Charger blocking both lanes of westbound traffic on Lincoln Highway and an unknown vehicle drive southbound across the grass of the parking lot entrance of the dealership, according to police.

When officers arrived, they saw fresh tire tracks in the mulch and grass directly west of the security gate, police said. There was also broken glass left in an empty parking space.

Police said security footage showed three people on the lot, and windows were broken to enter the cars. Evidence technicians processed the scene, and the cars were entered into a national database as stolen, police said.
