KANE COUNTY, IL — A Tuesday evening crash at the intersection of IL-38 and Lafox Road in Campton Hills was the second one at that spot in less than a week, according to reports. A two-car crash took place around 6 p.m. Tuesday in the intersection just two days after another crash involving two cars happened there Sunday morning, according to an email from the Kane County Sheriff's office. While neither crash resulted in any fatalities, details on injuries or hospitalizations haven't been released, according to the sheriff's office.

According to a Kane County IL Scanner Incidents Facebook post, one person commented that traffic following Tuesday's accident was backed up over a mile on westbound 38, while another person wrote that the crash was the "second bad crash of the week"

Patch reached out to the sheriff's office asking if there's a reason for the number of crashes taking place at the intersection.

In an email response to Patch, the sheriff's office cited the reasons for most crashes as weather-related (due to slippery roads), or people not paying attention, being in a hurry, or a combination of these factors.

Patch will update this piece as new information becomes available.
