2019 Holiday Festivals, Parades, And Santa Visits In Kane County
There will be plenty of holiday events happening in Geneva, St. Charles, Batavia and other area towns this season.

KANE COUNTY, IL — As you switch your Halloween decor over to holiday season trinkets and trimmings, start getting ready to take in all the festive lights, sights, music and more during several area festivals, parades and other merry events. Santa just might make an appearance during some upcoming events.
Here's a roundup of area events and places where you can enjoy some holiday cheer:
Geneva
Christmas Walk

- When: 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 6
- Where: The festivities kick off at the Courthouse Square in downtown
- Details: It all starts with the arrival of Santa Lucia, the first candy cane of the season, and Santa lighting the great tree – and continue with roasted chestnuts, strolling carolers, a live nativity, visits with Santa (Dec. 6 though 23), and free carriage rides on Saturday and Sunday. Holiday House Tour
- When: 10 a.m. to 8p.m. Friday, Dec. 6 and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7
- Where: The festivities kick off at the Courthouse Square in downtown
- Details: Tour five spectacular homes decked with boughs of holly and festive Christmas décor. Tickets are $35 each and include a traditional holiday tea at the First Congregational Church at 327 Hamilton Street from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm on Friday and 10:30 am to 4:00 pm on Saturday. >> More details
Batavia
Celebration of Lights Festival

- When: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 1
- Where: Batavia Riverwalk (Houston Street and Island Avenue)
- Details: There will be a community sing-a-long, roasted chestnuts, tree lighting ceremony, free hayrides through Christmas Tree Lane and visits with Santa, who arrives at 5:30 p.m. At 5:45 p.m., Santa can be found in the warming house of the Peg Bond Center where children can visit with him and receive a free treat. Don't miss Batavia Depot Museum's Light Up the Bank at 6 p.m., followed by Story Hour hosted by the Batavia Public Library at the Gustafson Research Center. More info: bataviaparks.org
10th Annual Holiday Lights at Mooseheart
- When: 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. beginning Nov. 29 through Dec. 31.
- Where: Mooseheart Child City & School, Route 31 and Mooseheart Road
- Details: Enjoy driving through 1.8 miles of beautiful holiday displays on Mooseheart's historic campus. Head over to the fieldhouse after for cookies, cocoa, and pictures with Santa. More info: bataviachamber.org
St. Charles
Holiday Homecoming
When: 5 p.m. Friday, Nov. 29, and the annual Electric Christmas Parade begins at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 30.
Where: Main Street, downtown St. Charles
Details: Free of charge; Holiday Homecoming will get underway in St. Charles on the day after Thanksgiving, and will include the official lighting of the display on the First Street Plaza and an appearance and visits with Santa Claus. The Electric Christmas Parade takes place Saturday. There will also be seasonal music, holiday movies, sleigh rides and visits with Santa. More info: stcharlesil.gov
