Battery Involving Brothers, Woman Violates Protective Order: Cops

Geneva Police Department officers responded to crimes reported during the first week of January 2020.

GENEVA, IL — The Geneva Police Department responded to these recently reported crime incidents:

Violation of order of protection

Geneva police were called to a report of a violation of protection at an address in the 0-99 block of Briar Lane in Geneva Monday, where a victim met police and handed them a copy of an order of protection against 30-year-old Bianca Allen, who is listed as homeless. According to the police report, Allen is accused of coming to the home and knocking on the door, and entering without the victim's consent. Allen was arrested and taken to the Geneva Police Department before being booked on accusations of violating an order of protection, according to police, adding that she was then taken to the Kane County Jail, according to police.

Domestic battery

Geneva police responded to a report of domestic battery at a home in the 200 block of Woodward Avenue Friday evening. When officers arrived, the victim, who had minor injuries, brought them into the living room area where the domestic incident is said to have taken place.

According to the police report, the victim claimed he and his brother, 29-year-old Graham Gawthorpe, from the 400 block of Dodson Street, were in a verbal argument regarding the cleanliness of their apartment on Dodson Street, during which Graham became angry and hit a martini glass out of the victims hand, causing it to break on the ground. The two family members started shoving each other and another family member tried to intervene, but was pushed by Graham, the report added.

The victim went into a bedroom to try to call 911, when Graham went into the bedroom and snatched the cell phone away from the victim, according to the police report. The victim got his cell phone back after wrestling Graham to the ground, and Graham then left the home. He was arrested at the Dodson Street apartment that same night on accusations of domestic battery and interfering with the reporting of a domestic violence. He was taken to the Geneva Police Department and was then transported to the Kane County Jail, according to the police report.
