Dog & Puppy Foster Homes Needed for 11/23!

Next week is Thanksgiving and these dogs are looking for a place to celebrate and maybe eat your leftover turkey too!

WILL YOU HELP? Safe Haven would like to bring these dogs to safety! We are an all foster based rescue so we rely on generous people like yourself to open your home to a deserving dog while we search for their forever family.

YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE!!

Gus – 6 month old and 35lbs. Gus is a black and tan dog that might be a hound/ shepherd mix. He’s fun and friendly and a typical puppy. He’s not a fan of the shelter! He’s much more interested in hanging out with a family

Copper - is a 6-month-old boy weighing in at 25lbs. He has a beautiful brindle coat and the cutest perky ears. Copper is super friendly and just wants to play! Can he come play at your house for a while?

Demi – 1 year old and 35lb terrier mix. This girl is the perfect mix of wild child and snuggle bug. She loves to play hard, but then would like to crash on your lap if you’ll let her!

Randy – beautiful yellow lab Randy is about 2 years old and 55lbs. He’s playful! Randy would love a dog in his foster home to play with!

Keisha – 2 year old 55lb shepherd mix. Gentle and sweet is how the shelter describes this girl. She’s shy when meeting new people, but does warm up. She would like a patient foster that will help her come out of her shell. Keisha has been tested with cats and ignores them.

Irby – This boy is 37lbs and 6 months old. He’s a hound Catahoula mix. He might have the silliest ears ever! He’s a happy and playful boy. He loves other dogs and people too. Irby is a deserving boy who would love to hitch a ride to IL this weekend!

Diez- male, cattle dog mix. Estimated age 2 years; approximate weight 45 lbs. Heartworm NEGATIVE. New to the shelter, but has quickly become a shelter favorite. He shows traits of being very intelligent and eager to learn. A very friendly pup. He is a good climber so would need a home with a tall fence that is not chain link. He does well with other dogs and loves people.

Clovis – 2 years old and 47lbs. Clovis is the sweetest dog. She’s a shelter favorite for sure! She has beautiful longer fur! Clovis is looking for a place to help clean those Thanksgiving dishes this year!

Bonnie – 2 years old and 40lbs. Bonnie is a little shy, but will come around with love and patience! She’s a sweet girl whose two puppies have already been rescued. We’d love to bring mama to safety too!

Alley Kat – Alley Kat is 45lbs and about 1 year old. This boxer mix is terrified at the shelter. She’s looking for a patient foster home that can show her love and what it means to be safe. If you’re willing to help Alley Kat, please let us know!

Bodi - 10-month-old terrier lab mix. This sweetie is a typical puppy; playful and happy! Booker likes treats, playing with other dogs and snuggling. Will you open your home to Bodi?

Nellie – This sweet girl was living in a sad situation with too many dogs, including her sister Willow. Thankfully she made it to the shelter and is as sweet as can be. This girl is dog and people friendly. Sadly, Nellie is heart worm positive and will need a home for two months while Safe Haven provides her treatment.

Diamond - This 6 year old pit mix weighs 55lbs. She LOVES people. Her favorite things to do are sunbathe and cuddle on the couch. She walks well on a leash. Diamond must be the only dog in the home.

Duke – 60lbs and 1 year old. This hound/shepherd/??? mix has been described as a gentle giant. He’s friendly and would do well in a family situation. Can you let him chill at your house for Thanksgiving? He promises to eat your leftover turkey!

Anna Lee – 65lb and about 1 year old. Beautiful lab mix Anna Lee is a typical lab dog! She’s energetic, smart, loving and playful. Anna Lee likes other dogs and every person she meets! Are you ready to have fun with Anna Lee?

Howie – Is one year old and just 26lbs! What nice size dog! The shelter says that Howie is a very sweet boy. He has a few scars on his ears from living life on the streets for a bit – but you’d never know he had a rough start to life! This boy is a tail waggin’ happy dog! Howie will make a fantastic family pet!

Oreo – This sweet 1 year old boy is about 40lbs. He was found alone on the streets in TN. He’s shy and nervous at the shelter but volunteers believe he’ll come out of his shell once he’s safe in a home. Sadly, Oreo is heart worm positive and will need a home for two months while Safe Haven provides him treatment.

Greta – 1 year old and 35lbs. Look at this beautiful girl! That head tilt says “will you get me out of the shelter?” Greta is a lovely size and super friendly. Will you be the one Greta is thankful for this Thanksgiving season?

Falula – This terrier mix is 37lbs and about 1 year old. She very quiet at the shelter. She observes what’s going on around her but is to nervous to participate. Falula likes to listen with her big ears. This beautiful girl is heart worm positive. She’ll need treatment, which Safe Haven will provide.

Safe Haven provides you with everything you need while you foster. You also have the first option to adopt the dog in your care. Fostering is a great way to see if a dog fits in with your family!
Please don't delay. We have until 12pm on Thursday to have committed fosters and SAVE these dogs. They can only come THIS SATURDAY 11/23 if we have committed fosters!
