Kane County Clerk John Cunningham said the primaries will only be held in areas where parties have chosen to hold a primary election or where several candidates are contesting. Not all office will appear on the primary ballots, Cunningham said in a news release.

Cunningham is encouraging residents to take advantage of early voting at his office to “help limit crowds on Election Day.”

“We also have the possibility of snow and ice during a February election,” Cunningham said in the release. “Voting early allows you to select the day of choice to go out and vote, rather than running the risk of a snowstorm on Election Day.”
