With Every Point Scored, Geneva Kicker Raises Funds For Cancer Research

Reilly Waldoch, the kicker for the Geneva Vikings, has raised over $1,300 so far this season for childhood cancer research.

GENEVA, IL – Geneva Vikings kicker Reilly Waldoch is using his athletic talent to help raise money for childhood cancer research. Waldoch has been accepting pledges and donations for every extra point and field goal he makes during the 2017 football season. With the hope of raising $3,000, the funds Waldoch brings in as a Kick-It Champion will be donated to Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation, which has raised more than $150 million and has funded over 800 pediatric cancer research projects nationally.

Waldoch has dedicated his 2017 football season to kids with cancer. He is participating as a Kick-It Champion in honor of his friend’s cousin, Ava Olson, who died earlier this year from diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG), a pediatric brain tumor. There have been multiple kids in Geneva who have also battled this disease.

“I will do whatever I can to fight cancer,” Waldoch said.

The Kick-It Champion program was started by All-State Ohio football player Matt Colella who battled cancer as a middle school student. His commitment to help others inspired his community and athletes around the country to become Kick-It Champions for children with cancer.
