Father, Son Robbed At Gunpoint During Online Sale Meetup: Sheriff

A Blackberry Township man and his son were robbed while meeting up with someone to sell them a pair of shoes, police said.

BLACKBERRY TOWNSHIP, IL — Kane County deputies are searching for two people accused of robbing a Blackberry Township family at gunpoint Friday after agreeing to buy a pair of shoes.

A father and his teenage son reported around 7:15 p.m. Friday that a person pointed a semi-automatic pistol at them while meeting to finish an online business deal, Kane County Sheriff Ron Hain said.

After arranging the deal through a social media sales platform, the man and his son invited the buyer to their home in the 0N000 block of North Mill Creek Drive in Blackberry Township, Hain said in a news release.

Two people showed up, and one pointed a gun at the father and his son before they left the area in a silver KIA sedan, police said.
