Geneva High Dancers Compete For State Title
The IHSA state dance competition will be held this weekend.

GENEVA, IL -- Suburban high school dance teams will be headed to state this weekend, and Geneva High School dancers will be among the elite group competing for a state title. Geneva High placed first in the Class 2A sectional competition last weekend, earning a trip to state. Dance performances get underway on Friday, Jan. 25, at Grossinger Motor Arena in Bloomington.
The prelims will be held on Friday and finals will be Saturday. Live streaming will be available on the NFHS Network.
Geneva High placed first in the Jan. 19 sectional held on their home turf. The team earned 93 points. Others earning a trip to state in the Class 2A division included: Providence Catholic, Batavia High School, Lincoln-Way West High School, Eisenhower and Hinsdale South.
St. Charles East earned a first place finish in the Class 3A sectional in Huntley on Jan. 19 with St. Charles North placing fourth. Both dance teams will also be headed to state.
