Geneva Man Drove Drunk, Fell Asleep In Mall Parking Lot: Police
Police allege they found an intoxicated man sleeping in his car last month outside a store at the Geneva Commons.
GENEVA, IL — A 22-year-old Geneva man is facing a misdemeanor DUI charge after police alleged he fell asleep in the Geneva Commons parking lot after using drugs and alcohol.
Nicholas Pappas was charged last month with driving under the influence of intoxicating compounds of alcohol and drugs, according to Kane County court records.

Police allege they found Pappas sleeping in his car around 11:30 p.m. Sept. 26 outside DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse in the Geneva Commons parking lot, according to a report by the Kane County Chronicle. Geneva police allege he hit a parked car while trying to park his vehicle in two spots, the report states.

When Pappas was awoken by officers, he appeared drowsy and confused and his speech was slurred, the Chronicle reports, citing police records. Pappas was told he was in an accident and responded by asking where the accident was, the report states.
He is due to next appear in court Oct. 29.
