GENEVA, IL — The Stephen Persinger Recreation Center will double as a haunted mansion next weekend as park district officials put on an escape-room style event meant for children and adults. The event will run from 4 to 9 p.m. and will last about 25 minutes.

"Use your wits and teamwork to find clues, solve puzzles, and escape before being trapped forever," according to a news release from Geneva Park District officials.

Registration is highly recommended and 4, 5 and 6 p.m. slots of the event are currently sold out. Tickets are $10 for Geneva Park District residents and $15 for non-residents and available online at genevaparks.org, at the Stephen Persinger Recreation Center, or at the Sunset Community Center.

Following the event, there will be a post-party in the Stephen Persinger gymnasium. Pizza, soda, and more will be available for purchase and raffle prizes and games will take place throughout the evening.

Attendees can also watch other groups attempt to escape the mansion via live-stream. The party is intended for groups who have already participated in the escape room and those who have not yet attempted the escape route will not be allowed in until they have finished.
