GENEVA, IL — It's time to start brainstorming on Halloween costumes. The holiday centered around ghosts, goblins, ghouls, and, of course, lots of candy, will be here before we know it.

The city of Geneva has set its recommended trick-or-treating hours for 3 to 7 p.m. on Oct. 31 in Geneva neighborhoods. Halloween Day falls on a Thursday this year.

In addition, downtown Geneva businesses will plan to hand out candy from 2 to 5 p.m. on Oct. 24. The free and fun event will allow kids and their families to trick-or-treat in the city's central business district. Those stopping out should look for a flyer in store windows that are participating in the event.
