Unlawful sale of vape tobacco products to person under 21
An employee at a vape shop in Geneva was cited Wednesday after admitting to illegally selling a vape cartridge to a person under 21 years old without verifying the customer's age. According to police, the customer's parent told police her ex-husband found their daughter in possession of electronic vaporizer (vape) products Tuesday from 312 Vape, in the 600 block of West State Street. The next day, the daughter was asked to go back to the shop as part of a police investigation, and try to illegally purchase products from the store, which she was able to do, according to the police report. Police said according to the young customer, the cashier never asked her to show him id or proof that she was of age, and that she's made multiple illegal transactions of tobacco vape products in the past.
Police received the transaction receipt via email and went to confront the cashier, 24-year-old Faiz NMN Ahmed, of the 25000 block of Presidential Avenue in Plainfield. According to police, Faiz said he believed she was a "regular customer" who's provided him proof she was 21 years old in the past.
Faiz was advised by police that he would receive two O-Tickets for his illegal sale of vape products to someone under 21. Police also learned Faiz had a failure to appear warrant out of DuPage County for a traffic offense, and was arrested and taken to the Geneva Police Department. He was released after posting bond for his warrant, according to police.

While escorting O'Connor to the dean's office, police saw her fidgeting with her wallet and then searched it, finding a corner of a plastic bag containing a white powdery substance, according to the police report. O'Connor admitted the white powdery substance was cocaine, and that she used it for her own personal use.
According to police, the student's father was contacted and said he wanted to be present before police spoke to his daughter. Police also saw a razor blade and a rolled up piece of paper (straw) with residue inside, inside the wallet, and police took the suspected cocaine, paper straw, razor blade and two JUUL vape pens.
