Gold Coin Left In Red Kettle In Geneva
The Salvation Army has collected its second gold coin in the Chicago area this holiday season.

GENEVA, IL — The second gold coin donated this holiday season was dropped into a red kettle outside the Starbucks at 229 W. State Street in Geneva in recent days. The coin is valued at $1,500 and the gift will be donated to the Salvation Army St. Charles Tri-City Corps Community Center.
Community center volunteers were ringing bells at the location on Nov. 22 when the anonymous donation was made, according to the Kane County Chronicle.
The gold coin is the second this holiday season left in a red kettle in the Chicago area. The first, a 1-ounce 2016 gold eagle coin, was left in a red kettle outside a Hobby Lobby at 6250 Northwest Highway in Crystal Lake, the Daily Herald reports.
