Infant Dies Tuesday; GPD Investigate Possible ‘Tragic Accident’

An investigation into the death of a 10-week-old Geneva boy Tuesday is centered "on the possibility of a tragic accident," police said.

GENEVA, IL — A 10-week-old Geneva boy died Tuesday morning, and police are focusing their investigation “on the possibility of a tragic accident,” according to a news release.

Geneva police and paramedics responded around 5 a.m. Tuesday to a parking lot in the 1100 block of East State Street after employees at the Bria of Geneva senior care facility said a woman brought a young boy into the facility for medical help, the release states.

Paramedics tried to revive the boy in the parking lot before taking him to Delnor Hospital, where he died, officials said.

The Geneva Police Department and the Kane County Major Crimes Task Force are investigating whether the boy died due to a “tragic accident,” the release states.

Police said the boy’s family is cooperating with the investigation.
