Kane Co. Coronavirus Updates: PPE Donations Sought
The Office of Emergency Management is looking for masks, gloves, gowns and face shields, to distribute to businesses, medical schools.
KANE COUNTY, IL — Kane County's Office of Emergency Management has asked for the public's help as it collects donations of personal protective equipment. The equipment, which includes masks, gowns, gloves and face shields, will be distributed to first responders, health care and medical facilities, and social services within Kane County, according to a Kane County's Office Emergency Management.
Businesses, medical and nursing schools, nail salons, tattoo parlors and residents can donate unused and unopened Personal Protective Equipment in the parking lot of the Kane County Judicial Center, 37W777 IL-38 in St. Charles. The drop-off site will be open from noon until 7 p.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays starting on Monday, March 30 and continuing through Friday, April 17.
All items should be in the manufacturer's original packaging and unopened. Open products or homemade items can not be accepted, according to the news release.

The following items are needed:
- Masks: Surgical, isolation or N-95
- Gowns: Isolation and non-surgical
- Gloves: Nitrile, sterile, and surgical
- Face shields, goggles, and safety glasses
- Hand Sanitizer (any size)
- Disinfectant wipes (any size)
If an organization or business has a large amount of items to donate, such as a pickup truck worth or larger, they should send an e-mail to kanecountyeoc@countyofkane.org. Include the quantities of each item you have on hand to donate and your contact information and the office of emergency management will get back to you with a pick-up time.

The drop -site will be staffed by personnel from the Kane County Office of Emergency Management.
