Maple Park Man Killed In Wisconsin Snowmobile Crash
Authorities in Wisconsin responded to two fatal snowmobile crashes in Vilas County Saturday morning, both involving men from Illinois.
MAPLE PARK, IL — A Maple Park man was killed in a snowmobile crash Saturday in St. Germain, Wisconsin. According to the Vilas County Sheriff's office in Wisconsin, 38-year-old Richard J. Hetsley died after the snowmobile he was operating hit a tree around 4 a.m. along the Little St. Germain Lake shoreline.
The sheriff's office said in a news release that during this time another person on a snowmobile was looking for the crash site and fell through the ice on the lake. They were able to get out of the water uninjured.
This fatal crash took place just hours before a second fatal snowmobile crash was reported in Vilas County.

According to the sheriff's office, a Belvidere man was killed in a snowmobile accident in the woods just off of Plum Lake, Wisconsin. Emergency crews were called to the crash site at 9:02 a.m., and when they arrived they found 27-year-old Justin W. Anderson dead.
The sheriff's office said both crashes are still being investigated.
