Hey Everyone…I bet you would never guess that I was in the shelter in Tennessee for over 700 days! They tell me that I had to stay there until someone rescued me because where I was found doesn’t allow any “bully breeds” whatever that is. (I’m not a bully, no matter what the other dogs say!). My most favorite day so far was when they told me I got to come to Illinois and get out of the shelter.

They tell me that I haven’t had an easy life, but that doesn’t get me down. I’m happy go lucky and really LOVE humans of all ages and sizes. Getting pets and attention is so great and cuddling on the couch is the BEST! I’m told that I have the softest ears ever and people can’t get enough of giving me ear rubs.

I don’t bark much, I’m too sophisticated for that. I do have a special “chirp” that I can do…it’s much more impressive than a bark! I’m very good in my crate when my foster family isn’t home. Let’s face it, being crated in a home is so much better than in the shelter so there’s no complaints here.

I enjoy long walks on the beach and get jealous quickly…oh wait, this isn’t a dating profile! But seriously, I do enjoy a long walk! I will also happily hang out with you and chill. I prefer to be the one and only pet in your home because I deserve all the attention (maybe I am a bit jealous)!

I will sit when I’m asked because I have learned that it usually gets me a treat. I’m not super into food, but those treats are sure worth sitting for! I have never had toys or bones to chew, so I’m not really sure what to do with them. My humans seem a little disappointed, but to be honest I would rather lay outside and sunbathe than chase a ball. Speaking of outside, I know that’s where I should do my business and not in the house…which I hear is a plus.

Did you know that the word diamond comes from the Greek word meaning unbreakable? I think that suits me. I have been through a lot in my time and it has not broken my spirit. Diamonds are also the world’s most popular and sought-after gemstone. As well as their rarity, they polish well. That’s why the name Diamond suits me! I’m polished and will make a delightful addition to a deserving family.

I'm available through Safe Haven Dog Rescue. They need you to fill out an application, have a phone interview, and meet your entire family for you to be approved to adopt me. If you think we would hit it off and you would like to meet me, please email safehavendogsIL@yahoo.com for an application or additional details.

Please note that my breed and size posted in this biography is an educated best guess and is not guaranteed.
