Park District Plans Family Fun Before Kids Head Back to School
Find out what events the Geneva Park District has planned in August.
GENEVA, IL — As the summer begins to wind down, the Geneva Park District has outdoor fun planned for area residents. We've included a roundup of events happening in August below.
Movie in the Park – “The Meg”: Aug. 1 starting at dusk (around 8:30 p.m.)
- Where: River Park, Geneva
Join area residents under the stars for a free movie in the park See “The Meg” on the big screen at River Park on August 1. Movie begins at dusk, or approximately 8:30 pm. Don’t forget a blanket or lawn chair! Concessions will be available for purchase. Movies in the Park are sponsored by the Kane County Chronicle. Angels Cheer and Poms Informational Meeting: Aug. 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m.

Sunset Dance Company Informational Meeting: Aug. 8 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Tween/Teen Night – Luau: Aug. 8 from 8 to 10 p.m.
- Where: Sunset Pool, 710 Western Avenue, Geneva

Flick n Float – “The Incredibles 2”: Aug. 9 starting at dusk (8:30 p.m.)

As the sun sets at Sunset Pool, grab a floatie or an inner tube and enjoy a cool poolside screening of “The Incredibles 2." Plus, walk the red carpet from 6 to 8 p.m. during Hollywood Night. Twilight admission rates apply. For more information, call 630-232-4542 or visit genevaparks.org.
Sunset Dance Company Placement: Aug. 11 from 2 to 4 p.m.
- Sunset Community Center, 710 Western Avenue, Geneva
2019-2020 Sunset Dance Company Placement will take place on August 11, 2018 from 2:00 – 4:00 pm at Sunset Community Center. Please bring a water bottle to the placement event. Placement is open to dancers ages 5 and up. All levels are welcome. Register at genevaparks.orgusing registration code 3210334. The Sunset Dance Company offers an inviting atmosphere with affordable instruction for dancers ages 5 and up. Company members study and perform at a higher level of expectation, taking three or more dance classes a week. The Company performs at a variety of events, and participates in competitions. Back to School Festival: Aug. 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Bring the whole family to Peck Farm Park and have one last fun-filled day before school starts. Enjoy games, activities, crafts, a birds of prey presentation, and more!
