Short-Term Lane Closures In Geneva For Road, Bridge Projects
The Kane County Division of Transportation advises drivers to be alert and seek alternate routes on these dates.
GENEVA, IL — Drivers in Geneva should expect two short-term lane closures Wednesday, and Friday through Saturday due to ongoing construction projects, according to the Kane County Division of Transportation. Until 4 p.m. Wednesday, traffic will be down to one lane on the Fabyan Parkway Bridge with flaggers controlling the flow of vehicles, according to a release. This change will allow crews room to safety pour new surface onto the bridge.
Kirk Road will be down to one lane of traffic in each direction from IL Route 38 to Fabyan Parkway from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, then again on Saturday, from 5 a.m. to 5 p.m. This change will allow crews to safely place high-friction asphalt at the intersection of Kirk Road and Cherry Lane.
According to officials, both projects and related lane closures are expected to cause significant traffic delays in the area, and drivers are advised to add more time to commutes, or find other routes during these dates.

"Motorists are to be cautious and be alert for new lane configurations as well as equipment on the bridge and workers walking within the work zone," officials said, in a release.
