Skateboarder Hit By SUV, Critically Injured In Geneva: Police
A 23-year-old man was hit by an SUV Sunday night while riding his skateboard on Route 25, according to Geneva police.
GENEVA, IL — A 23-year-old man was critically injured Sunday night when he was hit by a car while skateboarding on Route 25 in Geneva, according to police.
The man was riding his skateboard south on Route 25 just before 8:15 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a Chevrolet Tahoe, driven by a 73-year-old Batavia man, police said in a news release.

Witnesses performed CPR on the 23-year-old man until paramedics arrived, police said. He was treated for life-threatening injuries at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital in Geneva, where he remained Monday, police said.
The driver of the SUV was not injured in the crash and is “fully cooperating” with the Geneva Police Department’s investigation, the release states.

The driver did not see the man skateboarding on Route 25 “due to the darkness along that stretch of roadway,” police said.
