Street Closures And Detours Planned For Geneva Homecoming Parade
Motorists can expect these streets to be closed during the upcoming homecoming parade.

GENEVA, IL — The City of Geneva said Geneva High School's annual homecoming parade will close down several streets to traffic Friday, Sept. 27. According to a release from the City, State Street (Route 38) between Third and Ninth streets will close at 2 p.m. Friday for the event. In addition, all streets listed on the parade route will also be closed to traffic, including:
- Geneva High School/Stevens Street east to Anderson Boulevard
- Anderson Boulevard south to State Street
- State Street east to Third Street
- Third Street north to Hamilton Street.
Detour route: Motorists headed eastbound on State Street will be directed to turn south on Ninth Street, east on James Street, north on Third Street, and back east on State Street. The City said these directions will be reversed for westbound traffic.
Although police officers will be controlling traffic, the City asks motorists to use caution while driving through the downtown area due to the large crowd anticipated to attend the parade.

According to the release, the streets are expected to be reopened to drivers after 3:30 p.m. Friday.
