GENEVA, IL — A group of Geneva Middle School students have teamed up to find a way to recycle waste commonly used within their school that can not be recycled through the city. A deposit box for empty chip bags has been placed in the middle school's cafeteria and "The Green Team" is also working to collect worn out markers, according to a District 304 news release. The Green Team is a club organized this past year by Mrs. Brady's 6th-grade science class.

The Green Team created the chip bag deposit box and last month brought its first load of empty chip bags to Gerald Subaru in North Aurora, which has a recycling box for TerraCycle, a private recycling business, according to a District 304 news release.

The markers collected by The Green Team will be recycled through Crayola ColorCycle. Markers and chip bags can not be recycled through the city, according to the press release.
