Summer Entertainment at a Geneva Park: Movies, Music and More

The Geneva Park District offers a variety of fun events outdoors at local parks this summer.
Here is a look at some of those events:
Flick ‘n Float
As the sun sets at Sunset Pool, 710 Western Ave., grab a floatie or an inner tube and enjoy a cool poolside screening. Here is a look at the summer’s movie schedule:

- Paddington, June 19, dusk to 8:30 p.m.
- Annie, July 24, dusk to 8:30 p.m.
- Into the Woods, Aug. 14, dusk to 8:30 p.m.
Concerts in the Park
Free summer concerts will be held this summer starting in July. Here is a look at this summer’s schedule:
- Soda, a high-energy pop cover band, will perform at the Island Park starting at 7 pm. on July 8.
- Need to be Seen Radio Troupe, a live radio theater group, will perform at 6 p.m. on July 12.
- Morry Sochat & the Special 20s, a mix of blues, swing and vintage rock n’ roll with a fresh feel and sound, will perform starting at 7 p.m. at Island Park on July 15.
- Penny Mae Dixon Band, a country western rock group, will perform starting at 6 p.m. on July 19.
- Just South of Heaven, a a unique blend of contemporary and old school country hits, will perform beginning at 7 p.m. on July 22 at Island Park.
- Character Fleadh, a lively celtic group, will perform starting at 6 p.m. on July 26.
- Mr. Myers, a tropical blend of reggae, Caribbean rock and classic rock, will perform beginning at 7 p.m. on July 29.
Movies in the Park
- Back to the Future Part II will be showing at Moore Park, 877 Geneva Drive, starting at dusk or approximately 8:30 p.m. on July 9.
- Disney’s 101 Dalmatians will be shown at Frank Burgress Park, 339 Nelson Drive, starting at dusk or approximately 8:30 p.m. on Aug. 6.
