Traffic Delays Expected Thursday on Second Street

GENEVA, IL -- Local drivers are encouraged to avoid Second Street in Geneva on Thursday as repair is needed on a water main. The water main is on Second Street between Route 38 and James streets. Geneva Public Works Department crews began the work Thursday morning and traffic on Second Street "will be impacted," according to a community alert from the city of Geneva.

"... the road may possibly be closed at some point to complete the repair," according to the alert.

Crews are expected to be at the scene for the majority of Thursday. Some parking spaces along the one-block stretch of South Second Street have been closed, but access to the Geneva Public Library along James Street remains open, according to the alert.

The city of Geneva will post updates to its website as that information is made available.
