All traffic signals at the downtown Geneva intersection will be flashing red during the project. Westbound State Street traffic will be restricted to one lane and possibly halted all together intermittently to allow for the removal and replacement of the mast arm, which extends over the roadway.
IDOT informed the City Dec. 13 the mast arm had failed an inspection and needs to be replaced. Meade, IDOT's contractor, is scheduled to begin work at 9 a.m. Dec. 16, weather permitting.
