Umpire Suffered 'Facial Trauma' at Kane Co. Cougars Game
Pete the umpire was treated and released from a local hospital and now recovering at home, a Cougars' spokeswoman told Patch.

KANE COUNTY, IL — An umpire suffered "facial trauma" during a Kane County Cougars over the weekend. The umpire was taken to a local hospital where he was treated and released, Kane County Cougars communications coordinator Jacquie Boatman told Patch. A concerned Patch.com reader inquired about the umpire, who was injured by a line drive during a June 14 game, by posting using Patch's new QuickPost feature.
"[Pete the umpire] would like to thank everyone for their well wishes and concern," Boatman said, adding that he is grateful for the inquiries from those concerned about his condition.
