Water Main Break On Geneva’s West Side Slows Traffic Wednesday
A water main break that caused traffic detours on Geneva's west side was fixed Wednesday evening and all roads were reopened by 8 p.m.

GENEVA, IL — Crews from the Geneva Public Works Department turned off water Wednesday afternoon on the city's west side to repair a water main break, but officials said the shutdown only affected one resident.
Workers were examining a "collapsed handhole structure" before repairing the broken pipe, according to the update.

Pavement on the northwest corner of State Street and Anderson Boulevard was exposed as a result of the water main break, causing traffic issues, officials said in an update at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday.
As of 12:30 p.m., southbound traffic on Anderson Boulevard was being detoured east onto Stevens Street, and westbound traffic on State Street was still reduced to one lane, officials said.

GENEVA, IL — Crews from the city of Geneva were working Wednesday morning to repair a "significant" water main break at the intersection of State Street and Anderson Boulevard, according to an alert sent out by city officials.
Water poured onto the road as a result of the break, leading officials to shut down one lane of westbound traffic on State Street, also known as Route 38.
Officials said they could not provide an estimate on when the water main break would be fixed.
