Andy's Frozen Custard Now Open For Business In Glen Ellyn

GLEN ELLYN, IL -- Just over a week after spring sprang, Glen Ellyn residents got their first taste of the frosty treats that are offered up at Andy's Frozen Custard. The chain opened its Glen Ellyn location at 415 Roosevelt Rd. on April 3, marking the 71st store for Andy's Frozen Custard.

The brightly colored, neon-lit custard stand recalls an ice cream shop from the 1950s. In addition to traditional items that include chocolate malts, root beer floats, and banana splits, the menu at Andy's spotlights a seemingly endless variety of candy- and cookie-infused milkshakes, along with their signature, super-thick "concretes."

Concretes come blended with your choice of goodies, whether it's Oreos and Heath bars or warm caramel and roasted pecans. A favorite item is the Jackhammer, which sweetens a customer's choice of Concrete blend with a center of hot fudge, caramel, or other topping.

The Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce will host a ribbon cutting event for Andy's Frozen Custard on May 3 at 12 p.m. This will also mark the location's official grand opening.

Andy's Frozen Custard Glen Ellyn is open year-round.
