Fast Facts: Following in the footsteps of former Northwestern standout John Shurna, Pierce has emerged as one of the top players in Illinois for Glenbard West. Pierce sorted through 15 scholarship offers over the summer, settling on William and Mary as his future destination. He has been dominant for the Hilltoppers, who started 15-0 before falling at Proviso West last week. The 6-foot-6 Pierce leads the team with 24.8 points and 10.6 rebounds per game, also leading the team with 33 steals and 19 blocks, all while shooting 40 percent from three-point range. Passi complements Pierce with 11.2 points per game, a team-leading 3.9 assists per game and shooting 37 percent from the arc. The Hilltoppers have an all-senior lineup, led by Passi and Pierce, who are both three-year starters. Hinsdale Central is coming off of two straight regional titles and boasts a size advantage over Glenbard West thanks to 6-foot-7 senior forward Peter Blust. The athletic big man leads the low-scoring Red Devils (they average 51 points per game as a team) with 13.9 points and 8.7 rebounds per game. He also leads the team with 24 steals and 20 blocks and is second on the team in assists. Shepard averages 11.8 points per game. Eck averages 8.9 points per game and leads the team with 42 assists.
