College of DuPage Kicks Off Blood Drive, Organ Donation Awareness Campaign

‘Roll Up Your Sleeves’ Event Runs Through April 30

College of DuPage President Dr. Brian Caputo answers the call, donating life-saving blood through Versiti Blood Centers of Illinois as part of COD Cares’ “Roll Up Your Sleeves” Blood Drive and Organ Donation Awareness Campaign.

“As a blood donor myself, I understand the gratification that comes from helping others,” he said. “Many of our area hospitals have less than a two-day supply of blood available, and I encourage all who are able to join the College and give this life-saving gift.”

“Roll Up Your Sleeves” invites faculty, staff, students and community members to help boost the local blood supply and explore other ways to give by joining the national organ donation and bone marrow registries.

A number of blood donation appointments are available through April 30 at multiple locations, including Park View Elementary School, the Morton Arboretum, Naperville 95th Street Library, Cantigny and Mariano’s locations in Aurora, Bloomingdale, Elmhurst and Westmont.
