Common Good Brings Craft Cocktails To Glen Ellyn

Sip on cocktails infused with such inventive ingredients as elderflower, Thai chili, and snap peas.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn might not be the first place that comes to mind when you're wanting to try an inventive craft cocktail, but a new restaurant and cocktail bar is hoping to change that. At Common Good Cocktail House, which opened Saturday, diners can pair creative cocktails with a selection of gourmet eats.

The bartenders at Common Good have whipped up a cocktail menu with an extensive selection that rivals just about any you'd find in Chicago. And the names are as evocative as the drinks they honor. A Walk in the Skies is an invigorating blend of pisco, sake, mint, cantaloupe, and lemon. Wannabe combines blanco tequila with dry curacao, clarified citrus, and a zing of Thai chili for a truly eye-opening drink experience.

Other featured cocktails draw inspiration from Chicago landmarks. The aptly named Logan Square Love Story puts an elegant spin on the love-it or hate-it Chicago staple, malort, by spicing up egg white and a zing of lime with elderflower and basil.

Make no mistake, cocktails take center stage at Common Good, but the drink menu also features sake, wine, and craft beers from Solemn Oath, Revolution, and other beloved brewers.
