Decrease In New Weekly Coronavirus Cases In Glen Ellyn

Since March 2020, Glen Ellyn has seen 3,088 confirmed coronavirus cases, according to DuPage County Health Department.

GLEN ELLYN, IL —In Glen Ellyn, the number of coronavirus cases has increased by 48 cases in the past week, according to information from the DuPage County Health Department (DCHD). The numbers reflect a decrease over the previous week, in which Glen Ellyn saw 70 new coronavirus cases.

On April 13, the village had reported 3,040 total cases of the new coronavirus. Those numbers had increased to 3,088 as of April 20, reflecting an overall increase of 1.6 percent. The previous week's increase was 2.3 percent.

DCHD recently began sharing the number of probable coronavirus cases in each municipality. In Glen Ellyn, there have been 210 probable coronavirus cases. Including probable cases, the total coronavirus case count for Glen Ellyn is at 3,298.

As of April 13, there had been 4,325 coronavirus cases reported in Wheaton. The total number of cases reported in Wheaton as of April 20 was 4,394. This reflects an overall increase of 1.6 percent. The previous week's increase was just over 2.2 percent.

In Wheaton, there have been 285 probable coronavirus cases since March 2020, according to county health records. With probable cases included, the total case count for Wheaton is 4,679.

The risk of coronavirus transmission in DuPage County is currently classified as "substantial."
