'Disturbing' Child Pornography Charges Filed Against Lombard Man

LOMBARD, IL — A Lombard man was charged with 10 counts of possession of child pornography after police say they found "multiple images of child pornography" during a search of his home Friday, after he had already pleaded guilty to prior child pornography charges. Michael Luna, 30, of the 2N100 block of Fairfield Ave., is set to appear in federal court April 28 for sentencing in connection with the incident.

Police say they executed a search warrant for Luna's home with the assistance of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children. According to police, "multiple" child pornography images were found during the search.

Luna was taken into custody later that day, after police say they saw him leaving the house in a car driven by someone else.

“The allegations that Mr. Luna was in possession of child pornography while awaiting sentencing on the same charges are very disturbing,” DuPage County State's Attorney Robert Berlin said in a news release. “I would like to thank the Lombard Police Department for their outstanding work on this case as well as the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children for their assistance. I would also like to thank Assistant State’s Attorney Patrick Miner for his efforts in protecting the innocent victims of child pornography.”

Luna is being held in DuPage County Jail on $100,000 bond. He is set to appear in court again April 5.
