Drivers to Vote on Tollway Messages

The Illinois Tollway is turning to the public to weigh in on the signs.

Electronic signs along the Illinois Tollways can serve a number of purposes. Sometimes, the signs will reveal traffic times to get from one area to another. Other times, they will include slogans, encouraging drivers to buckle-up, not text while driving and to drive sober.

Now, motorists in Illinois will get to vote on the messages.

“More than 640 total entries were submitted by the public for the Illinois Tollway’s safety message contest between March 18 and March 27,” the Illinois Tollway Web site states. “From those entries, Illinois Tollway management and the Board of Directors selected the top 15 messages from which voters can choose.”
