DuPage Co. Board Member Dies at Age 47

A member of the DuPage County Board since 2006 has died at the age of 47 from complications from brain tumors, the Chicago Tribune reports.

Jerome F. “JR” McBride Jr., who represented District 4 of the County Board, died Friday at his Glen Ellyn home, the newspaper reports. He was first diagnosed with brain tumors 14 years ago and took a leave of absence in 2011 to undergo a surgery to remove a benign tumor.

He was a husband and father to five children, according to his obituary. He worked with his brother and father at McBride Insurance Agency in Glen Ellyn.
