Flooding Closes Streets In Lombard

The following streets are closed in Lombard due to rising waters and flooding.

LOMBARD, IL — Heavy rains have caused flooding to close streets throughout Chicago's suburbs Thursday and Friday. With the DuPage River quickly rising, Lombard officials recently announced that several streets were impassable due to flooding.

The following streets in Lombard are closed until further notice, according to DuPage Public Safety's Twitter page:

  • Main Street is closed in both directions at Sunset Ave. due to high water, which stalled one vehicle around 11 a.m. Water levels have risen to the pavement at the intersection of North Ave. and Main St.
  • The 200 block of Lombard is closed due to flooding
  • DuPage is closed at Berkshire
  • Westmore is closed north of St. Charles Rd.
  • Meadow is closed at Rte. 53

This is a developing story. Patch will keep you updated with more street closures as they arrive.
