Glen Ellyn To Add Outdoor Dining Area On Duane
Dine on Duane is expected to be ready in early June in front of Glen Ellyn Civic Center.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Village of Glen Ellyn is adding another option for diners who want to eat al fresco after May 29. Dine on Duane, an outdoor seating area for diners, will be located on Duane Street in front of the Glen Ellyn Civic Center, according to a Facebook post from the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce.
Dine on Duane will feature picnic tables beneath a 120-foot tent, in addition to turf grass that will allow for more seating and more opportunity for social distancing. The tent will have strings of lights to help enhance the atmosphere.

According to the post, village staff is brainstorming how cleaning, sanitation stations and trash will be implemented at Dine on Duane. The village also plans to create similar outdoor dining areas downtown, but on a smaller scale.
Glen Ellyn Village President Diane McGinley said in a statement, "Our local small businesses are the cornerstone of Glen Ellyn. We want to thank the community for their overwhelming support of our restaurants during the COVID-19 pandemic. Developing Dine on Duane and other outdoor dining options gives the Village the opportunity to welcome residents and visitors back into our downtown to enjoy shopping and dining."
