Glen Ellyn Approves $20M Avere On Duane Development

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The Glen Ellyn Village Board approved another development Tuesday that will bring 48 luxury apartments, an onsite parking garage, and a pet washing station to the village. The $20 million Avere on Duane development will feature one- and two-bedroom apartments near the Metra train tracks and downtown Glen Ellyn's amenities.

The village planning commission approved the plans unanimously in a meeting on June 20. According to village officials, the project will be funded in part by a tax incentive agreement that is based on the development's performance. The agreement takes effect if Avere on Duane results in a property tax increase after it's finished.

Glen Ellyn Village President Diane McGinley said, "This development meets the comprehensive plan and downtown goals, along with creating more housing diversity, particularly in age-in-place housing.

Village officials say construction should start by the beginning of August.
