Glen Ellyn Backyard Barbecue Goes Socially Distant

The Sept. 12 competition will still go on, but the setup will be a little different.

GLEN ELLYN, IL — The annual Glen Ellyn Backyard Barbecue may not be able to take place downtown as it normally does, but the organizers are helping residents bring the barbecue to their own backyards for the Sept. 12 competition.

Residents can order one of two Backyard Barbecue kits to get things sizzling in their backyards. A total of 200 kits are available and pickup will be Sept. 3 and 4 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Two Hound Red, 486 Pennsylvania, Glen Ellyn.

This year, participants can also up their game with a virtual barbecue class at Marcel's Culinary Experience.
