Glen Ellyn To Host Scarecrow-Building Event

GLEN ELLYN, IL — Glen Ellyn will host a scarecrow-building event for businesses, scout troops, community groups and non-profits starting Oct. 6. The scarecrows will be on display in downtown Glen Ellyn throughout the Halloween season.

Those who are interested in building a scarecrow can pick up a scarecrow kit from the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce office at 810 N. Main St. between Oct. 5 and Oct. 16. Non-profits and community groups can get their scarecrow kits free of charge, according to a news release. The scarecrows must be assembled off-site and then placed along downtown Glen Ellyn's Scarecrow Row by Oct. 20.

Businesses can pay $45 to sponsor a scarecrow, which means they'll get their business logo and signage on the scarecrow. The funds will be used to provide scarecrow kits to community groups.
