Glen Ellyn Yard Waste And Weekly Composting Collection Resumes April 5
The weekly program runs through November.
Yard Waste
Yard Waste collection will resume Monday, April 5. This weekly service runs through the end of November 2021. Please review the following regulations for the proper disposal of yard waste:
- A $2.74 green yard waste sticker is required on each container.
- Yard waste can be contained in brown paper bags and/or unlined 33-gallon trash containers; no plastic bags.
- Branch and brush can also be put out for this pick-up with a sticker.
- Branch and brush should be in paper bags, containered or bundled with twine; each bag, container or bundle requires 1 yard waste sticker.
- Branches must be no larger than 5 inches in diameter, 4 feet in length and branches or bundles can not exceed 50 pounds in weight.
- Sod is not a yard waste; dispose of as refuse.
Yard waste must be out at the curb by 7 a.m. on the Monday collection day. For additional information on yard waste collection, including a listing of where to purchase stickers, visit the Village's website.

Curbside Composting
Glen Ellyn continues to offer the curbside composting program on a voluntary, subscription basis. This program allows residents to dispose of yard waste, leaves and food scraps each week in a separate composting cart. Subscribers who use the composting cart for their yard waste and food scraps are not required to purchase yard waste bags or stickers.
This program is offered year-round, however, it transitions to a bi-weekly collection December through March. Subscribers to the program have the option of selecting a 35 gallon ($11.53/ month), 65 gallon ($13.41/month) or 95 gallon ($16.69/month) wheeled cart. Branch & Brush Program
Please note that the Village's free Branch & Brush collection program does not begin until mid-May and runs through mid-October. More information on this program, along with a description of guidelines, can be found here. Please remember that you may include branch and brush within your weekly yard waste pick-up, with a sticker.
